They say that good things come to those who wait. Cat-ear headphones sound like a very good thing to us, so it seems sensible that even six months after Axent Wear started a crowdfunding campaign because of its feline-inspired audio equipment, the fashionable and playful pieces of technology are’t quite prepared to send.

The California-based business has, however, thrown all us all a delicious fishbone with a just-released video of the very first working model of the Cat Ear Headset.

The last time we checked in on Axent Wear’s Indiegogo crowdfunding project, it’d amassed US$2.9 million, far more than the $250,000 the organization had originally been seeking to get its vision off the ground.

After attracting that much money and focus, Axent Wear also picked up a partner in Brookstone, the gadget retailer/de facto massage chair rest stop found inside many shopping malls in the U.S. Brookstone will be involved with development and customer service, and one of the business’s representatives recently showed off an in progress versions of the earphones for the first time in a video released through the Axent Wear YouTube station.

We see Brookstone spokesperson Lauren flip on the switch for the ’ LED lights that are headset. Axent Wear has said that customers will manage to purchase the finished version at the same time, although the prototype’s shine blue.

Another design promise that Axent Wear is making good on is that loudspeakers that are outside are housed by the ears, and in the video they appear powerful enough to let you share your tunes with anyone standing within a radius that is pretty wide. As Lauren declares they’re “truly, extremely loud.” the normal headphone speakers are no slouch either

Unfortunately, the video wraps without giving a firm date of when the finished creation units will get ready to ship, although Lauren does mention there’s another update coming in a few weeks, at which time Brookstone hopes they’ll be “nearly prepared.” In the meantime, if you’ve seen enough and are sold on the Cat Ear Earphones, it is possible to have a look at Axent Wear’s Indiegogo effort here.

The headphones can be found on the Brookstone website , where they are listed for US$149.99 each. or shop it from brookstone’s officely amazon store here at $129 each.
